About the Host

I’m Samuel Christensen, a returned missionary myself, passionate about uncovering and sharing these stories of transformation.

My Mission

I served my mission in Cambodia, and it was truly life-changing. Spiritually, I grew tremendously. But I also developed in a more “secular” way that has shaped how I see myself and what I hope to achieve in my life.

Background

  • Education: BYU (English major, Business Strategy minor) + Duke’s Fuqua School of Business (MBA)
  • Career: Multiple startups + 3 years at Deloitte
  • Family: Married with two kids

Through this podcast, I explore how mission experiences create ripple effects that positively impact careers, relationships, and life’s purpose for decades to come.

Why This Podcast?

I believe that the experiences gained during missionary service create lasting transformation. Through candid conversations with accomplished returned missionaries, we reveal how those “best two years” continue to shape and influence the decades that follow.

From entrepreneurs and executives to artists and academics, my guests share:

  • Leadership lessons learned in the field
  • Resilience built through overcoming challenges
  • Communication skills developed through daily interactions
  • Work ethic forged in demanding circumstances
  • Perspective gained from serving others
